DCLEX – Tokenized Stocks on The Blockchain

CEO of DCLEX, Nicolas Martin Nicola is the CEO of DCLEX, a stock trading platform where users can withdraw their stocks to their Ethereum wallet and interact with the DeFi ecosystem. He demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities, providing clear guidance and encouragement throughout our collaboration. He fosters a positive and productive work environment, where every team member feels valued and motivated to contribute their best. In an interview, he speaks on an array of topics. Excerpts:

DCLEX – Tokenized Stocks on The Blockchain

**Founding of DCLEX: “**The tokenization of stocks and other securities on the blockchain is not a new concept. People have been talking about it for years. However, the permissionless nature of blockchains makes it complex to issue crypto tokens while staying compliant with securities laws.” Says Nicolas that this is precisely the gap that we fill at DCLEX. “To complement our tokenized stocks, we introduce a new Digital Identity system that enables users to transfer stocks on the blockchain in a fully compliant way. Then, we built the DCLEX platform, a comprehensive trading platform to provide a user-friendly interface for anyone to tokenize stocks.”

Key features of DCLEX: DCLEX is a stock trading and tokenization platform that brings stocks to DeFi. Users can deposit USDC and trade 40+ premium stocks, including Apple, Google, and Tesla. These stocks can be withdrawn on Ethereum and used in DeFi applications, adds Nicolas. Developing a platform like DCLEX requires extensive knowledge in several niche areas. At the time, individuals with expertise in blockchain programming knew very little about securities laws and vice versa. “Also, the blockchain is a new technology and it opens the doors to so many unexplored applications. So, I would say that always being interested in learning new things is the trait that made the difference.”

The Future of Tokenized Stocks in DeFi: DeFi introduces novel use cases for stocks, empowering investors with new avenues for wealth creation and increasing capital efficiency through reduced intermediaries and enhanced automation. Notable use cases include Decentralized Exchanges, Lending and borrowing, Oracle trading, payments, and more. The possibilities of DeFi extend far beyond of what we can imagine. As DeFi evolves, DCLEX leads the charge, redefining the way investors engage in the economy.

Leadership traits: Nicolas says that he is a solution-finder. Building something that has never been built often means solving problems that have never been solved. “So many issues arose throughout the development journey of DCLEX, which at first glance seemed to be real blockers for us, but by working hard we managed to overcome every obstacle.” He urges business leaders to never give up.

Advice to blockchain startups: “Use blockchain technology only if it makes sense to use it. It must give an advantage over others who don’t use it. Also, make sure the product is interoperable with as many decentralized applications as possible before the launch because once deployed on the blockchain smart contract codes can’t be changed afterward.” This is a great feature as the end-users can trust their code but it’s double-edged sword for developers because their codes need to be exempt from any bugs. “The strength of your team is often the defining factor in success. Surrounding yourself with talented, passionate, and driven individuals who share the vision can propel a project forward even in challenging times. “Looking ahead- DCLEX “There are some improvements to the platform you can expect from our end but what we can’t wait to see is what people are going to build upon DCLEX. The whole financial system is due for a paradigm shift to the extended capabilities enabled by the blockchain, nobody really knows what form it will take. I believe we can expect to see disruptive applications appear in the next few years.”

V1 DCLEX- The future of cryptocurrency

CEO of DCLEX, Nicolas Martin Nicola is the CEO of DCLEX, a trading platform that settle’s trades with USDC & where investors can withdraw stocks to their Ethereum account. He demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities, providing clear guidance and encouragement throughout our collaboration. **Founding of DCLEX: “**The tokenization of securities on the blockchain is not a new concept. People have been talking about it for years. However, the permissionless nature of blockchains makes it really complex to issue crypto tokens while staying compliant with securities laws.” Says Nicolas that this is precisely the gap that we fill at DCLEX. “We started by implementing a new kind of token that would have all the features needed to allow us to issue these tokens in a compliant way. Then, we built the DCLEX platform to provide a user-friendly interface for anyone to token size stocks.”

Challenges galore: “With the pandemic came the rise of cyberattacks and most of these crimes are made possible thanks to the permissionless nature of the blockchain; most attacks are ransomwares which consist in somehow forcing victims to pay a ransom in crypto. This cannot happen with our tokenized stocks.”

Key features of DCLEX’s comprehensive platform designed for digital natives:

Developing a platform like DCLEX requires knowledge in fields that are really different.
